Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Creative Technology Technician to join a supportive secondary school in Bradford. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical skills and a passion for supporting creative and practical learning within a school environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of Creative Technology subjects, including Design & Technology, by ensuring equipment, materials, and resources are well prepared, maintained, and safely managed.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide technical support to teaching staff within Creative Technology / Design & Technology departments
*Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for practical lessons
*Maintain, organise, and safely store tools, machinery, and resources
*Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times, including risk assessments
*Assist with routine maintenance and basic repairs of equipment
*Support students during practical activities when required
*Manage stock levels and place orders for materials and supplies
Requirements:
*Experience working as a technician, ideally within a school or workshop environment
*Knowledge of Design & Technology equipment, tools, and materials
*A strong understanding of health and safety procedures
*Good organisational and time-management skills
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*A proactive, flexible, and reliable approach
Desirable:
*Previous experience in a secondary school setting
*Relevant qualifications or training in Design & Technology or a related field
