Job Description:
Interim Senior Accountant- Oxford (Hybrid) | Circa £350-£400 per day | Interim Contract- 6 Months +
We are working with one of Oxfordshire’s most exciting VC-backed start-ups who are seeking an Interim Senior Accountant to join their finance team during a key period of growth and transformation. This is a hands-on role, ideal for a qualified accountant who can quickly add value in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Support the finance team with month-end close, ensuring accurate and timely delivery
*Preparation and review of management accounts and period-end accounts
*Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances
*Prepare and post accruals, prepayments and journals
*Review Accounts Payable transactions, ensuring accuracy, correct coding and strong controls
*Review and support the preparation of VAT returns, ensuring compliance and timely submission
*Assist with audit preparation, including schedules, reconciliations and responding to audit queries
*Support process improvements and controls during a period of change
*Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to senior stakeholders as required
Candidate Requirements
*ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualified/ QBE
*Strong end-to-end management accounting experience
*Proven background in month-end close and balance sheet ownership
*Solid experience reviewing AP transactions and VAT returns
*Advanced Excel skills
*Comfortable working in a fast-moving, change-driven environment
*Available at short notice
