Kitchen Supervisor / Chef
Permanent | Full-Time | £12.80 – £14.00 per hour
Tuesday – Saturday | Flexible Hours
Location: Leatherhead, Surrey


We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and much-loved hospitality venue for an experienced Team Leader / Chef to join their catering team on a permanent basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on chef who enjoys leading a small kitchen team while remaining actively involved in food preparation, baking, and service delivery.


The Role
Working closely with the Food & Beverage Manager, you will help oversee the daily operation of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer experience are consistently delivered.
You will play a key role in:
*Supporting and motivating the kitchen team
*Maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards
*Contributing to menu development and seasonal changes
*Producing high-quality baked goods and main meals
*Ensuring smooth coordination between kitchen and front-of-house teams


Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Leadership & Supervision
*Support the daily running of the catering operation alongside management
*Assist with staff training and development
*Ensure compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety, and COSHH regulations
*Support stock control, food quality, and safe food handling practices
*Promote teamwork and a positive kitchen culture
Chef Duties
*Prepare and cook a range of dishes including:
*Cakes, traybakes, cookies, and pastries (to set recipes)
*Pasta dishes, salads, seasonal soups, and main meals
*Maintain high presentation and quality standards
*Manage prep lists and support weekly stock planning
*Ensure a clean, organised kitchen in line with cleaning schedules
*Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance issues
*Support the team with general kitchen duties, including cleaning and dishwashing when required


About You
*Previous experience as a Chef with some leadership or supervisory responsibility. Or someone willing to be trained up and ready to make the step up.
*Strong knowledge of food allergies and dietary requirements
*Confident communicator who works well within a team
*Adaptable, organised, and customer-focused
*Able to work independently as well as collaboratively
*High standards of personal hygiene and professionalism
*Basic numeracy and literacy skills
