Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) / Experienced Teaching Assistant
Salary: £115-£125 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Term Time Only
Are you a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a role in a great primary school in Harrow?
This opportunity would also suit an ECT seeking valuable classroom experience, or an experienced or retired teacher looking to remain in education with reduced responsibility.
A welcoming, community-driven primary school in Harrow, London is looking to appoint a committed HLTA to join their supportive and collaborative team.
The Role - Higher Level Teaching Assistant As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the primary school, with a particular focus on EYFS, while also working across other year groups. Responsibilities include:
* Providing targeted classroom support in EYFS and across Key Stages 1 and 2
* Delivering pre-planned lessons and providing class cover when required
* Supporting pupils’ academic progress and social development
* Creating engaging, inclusive, and purposeful learning environments
* Maintaining positive behaviour management and classroom routines
* Adapting confidently to different classes, subjects, and learning needs
Person Specification The successful candidate will:
* Hold HLTA status, or have extensive experience as a Teaching Assistant with the confidence to lead classes
* Demonstrate strong classroom management and effective communication skills
* Be enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to supporting pupil achievement
* Have experience working across primary year groups, including Early Years (EYFS)
* Be flexible, reliable, and passionate about primary education
