SANZA Teaching Agency are seeking a behaviour mentor for a wonderful, small independent school in Barking & Dagenham. The school provides therapeutic and personalised education for students unable to attend mainstream school due to Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
About the school:
*Caters to primary and secondary aged students
*Takes a restorative, therapeutic, trauma- informed approach
*Strives to empower students and increase confidence and wellbeing through communication, collaboration and trust
*Small and nurturing with a calm atmosphere and fantastic, highly supportive leadership
Further information:
*You will be supporting students with SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom, providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring focused on behaviour, emotional regulation and social development
*You must have a solid understanding of restorative practice and trauma-informed approaches to de-escalate and re-engage students
*Previous experience as a behaviour mentor/teaching assistant in a SEMH/PRU setting is essential
*You will need to be able to teach strategies for self-control, resilience, and conflict resolution
*You must be able to help students understand emotions, triggers, and consequences of actions
