HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver – Enfield
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our well-established client based in Enfield. This is a fantastic opportunity offering competitive rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.
Shifts
• Rota basis Sunday to Friday
• Start times between 18:00 and 06:00
Rates of Pay
• £21.50 per hour (basic hours)
• Overtime and weekend rates from £24.07 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties
• Shunting 45ft and double-deck trailers onto allocated bays
• Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently as required
• Carrying out daily yard checks in line with site rules and health and safety guidelines
• Ensuring all trailers and loads are positioned safely and correctly
• Adhering to all traffic laws and site regulations
• Communicating effectively with transport and warehouse teams (radio use essential)
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
• Covering trunking routes when required
Essential Skills
• Valid UK Category CE driving licence
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience driving and shunting
• Valid Driver CPC card and Digital Tachograph card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsement codes)
• Good spoken and written English
• Punctual with strong time-keeping skills
• Good understanding of traffic laws and site safety rules
• Excellent communication skills
Desirable Experience
• Experience working in a fast-paced transport or logistics environment
Training Provided
• Driver assessment must be completed before starting
