Job Description:
Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for an experienced Science Technician to work full-time in a secondary school in the Haslingden area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised individual with strong science knowledge and relevant qualifications to support the delivery of high-quality science education. The role is to start ASAP and is ongoing.
The successful candidate will:*Have strong subject knowledge in Science (KS3 and KS4)
*Be confident in supporting and preparing resources for practical lessons
*Demonstrate good classroom management and a clear passion for teaching and learning
*Be proactive, well organised, and a strong team player
*Have experience working in a laboratory, scientific, healthcare, or technical environment
*Hold relevant qualifications related to science or education
*Be fully committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing
What you will do:
*Prepare, maintain, and set up laboratories for practical science sessions
*Ensure laboratories are safe, compliant, and well-organised
*Support teaching staff and students during practical experiments
*Manage chemicals, equipment, and stock levels in line with health and safety requirements
*Maintain specialist scientific equipment and ensure accurate record-keeping
