Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Spanish Teacher for a maternity leave at a secondary school. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for language instruction and have experience working with diverse student populations, including children and individuals with disabilities. This role involves fostering a positive learning environment, developing engaging lesson plans, and supporting students’ language acquisition and personal growth. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ lives through effective teaching and mentoring.
Responsibilities
*Deliver engaging and interactive Spanish lessons tailored to students’ age groups and learning needs
*Develop customised lesson plans that incorporate creative writing, cultural insights, and communicative activities
*Support students with special educational needs, including those with autism or other disabilities, ensuring an inclusive classroom environment
*Provide tutoring and mentoring to reinforce language skills outside of regular lessons
*Utilise various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
*Assess student progress regularly and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
*Foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages confidence, participation, and curiosity in language learning
*Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support student development and address individual needs
Requirements
*Qualified Teacher Status
*Proven experience in teaching Spanish at various levels, including working with children and young learners
*Knowledge of special education practices and experience working with people with disabilities or autism is highly desirable
*Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to motivate and inspire students
*Experience in tutoring or mentoring students to achieve their language goals
*Creative writing skills to enhance lesson content and student engagement
*Ability to create inclusive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs
*Passion for education, patience, organisation, and a collaborative attitude
*Relevant qualifications in education or language instruction are preferred but not essential depending on experience
