Senior Housing Solutions Officer
*Location: Sheffield City Centre
*Job Type: Full-time, Temp
*Salary: £17.18 per hour
Join our Housing Advice and Options Service as a Senior Housing Solutions Officer. This role is crucial in providing tailored housing advice, assessing households in housing need, and delivering effective homeless prevention solutions. Day-to-Day of the Role
*Conduct interviews, undertake assessments within statutory and policy frameworks, and maintain ongoing support and client contact.
*Carry out home visits or visits to hospitals and other relevant sites.
*Collect information from various sources to progress cases from application to final outcome and evaluation.
*Provide information on all available housing, support, and other related services.
*Assist clients in accessing specialist support services as required (e.g., advocacy services, tenancy support).
*Interpret and support clients through the Council’s Lettings Policy, including assistance with the bidding process.
*Undertake office duty and liaise with other statutory and voluntary sector organisations.
*Arrange supported and interim accommodation with the Supported and Temporary Accommodation Team where required.
*Manage own targets specific to the post and respond to customer queries and/or complaints.
*Carry out service user consultation to inform the development of Housing Solutions, including quality control.
*Assist with the writing of procedures and information about the service.
*Respond to telephone, mail, and electronic enquiries.
*Produce and present reports including making recommendations on any aspect of the Housing Solutions Service.
Required Skills & Qualifications
*Proven ability to provide and maintain a quality Housing Service.
*Excellent understanding of the housing needs of vulnerable people.
*Strong customer service experience and commitment to customer-oriented service delivery.
*Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
*Ability to work constructively and calmly with people who may be upset or in a crisis situation.
*Time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
*Computer literacy, including the ability to use and update databases.
*Experience in managing a caseload and delivering housing casework within a quality framework.
*Ability to work in partnership with both voluntary and statutory organisations.
