Mechanical Maintenance Engineer£50,000–£52,000 + Premium Overtime + Excellent Benefits
Days Only | 4 on / 4 off | Continental Shifts

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established, high-output manufacturing site where overtime is regular and rewarded.
What’s in It for You?*Salary: £50,000–£52,000
*Regular overtime paid at premium rates
*Days only – no nights
*4 on / 4 off shift pattern
*12-hour shifts (30-minute paid lunch)
*Christmas bonus
*Track & SFPB bonuses (performance/output related)
*Life insurance – 2x annual salary
*Pension:
*Employee: 2%
*Company: 2%
*Holiday:
*23 days total (15 days + 8 bank holidays)
*Additional service-related entitlement
*Pro-rata in first year
The RoleReporting to the Departmental Engineer, you will play a key role in keeping plant and equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
*Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly inspections & planned maintenance
*Respond quickly to mechanical breakdowns
*Fault-find using hydraulic and pneumatic drawings
*Record parts usage to maintain accurate stores stock levels
*Assist with root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
*Carry out plant modifications in line with regulations
*Support installation of new equipment
*Assist with training and mentoring apprentices
*Participate in call-out cover when required
*Work reasonable overtime during peak demand
What We’re Looking ForEssential:
*Time-served apprenticeship
*C&G Part 3 or ONC / HNC
*Strong experience with hydraulics & pneumatics
*Knowledge of motors & drives (gear motors, reduction gearboxes, overhead cranes)
*Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
*Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
Desirable (but not essential):
*Foundry or heavy manufacturing experience
*Banksman certification
*FLT / access equipment training
*Experience using lathes, milling machines, grinders
