SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our educational team in Northampton. This role is crucial in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to achieve their educational goals in a supportive and understanding environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs, both in classroom settings and one-to-one.
*Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to implement effective strategies and personalised learning plans.
*Assist in managing classroom behaviour and creating a safe, positive learning environment.
*Support the emotional and social development of students, helping them develop coping mechanisms and resilience.
*Monitor and report on the progress of students, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to teachers and parents.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEMH or similar needs.
*Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH issues.
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
*A patient, caring, and resilient approach to student support.
*Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or special needs education are preferred.
