Special Needs Assistant- Cheltenham (Profound Learning Difficulties)
ASAP Start
£88- £100 per day - Full-Time (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm)

A specialist school in Cheltenham is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Assistant to support pupils aged 4 to 19 with profound learning difficulties (PMLD). Many students also have additional physical, sensory, or communication needs, and require consistent, structured support throughout the school day.
About the Role
As a Special Needs Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require a high level of individualised support. Your responsibilities will include:
*Assisting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties
*Supporting communication through specialist methods (training provided)
*Helping with sensory-based activities and structured routines
*Creating a calm, safe and positive learning environment
*Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff
What the School Is Looking For
The school is looking for someone who is:
*Patient, reliable and compassionate
*Comfortable supporting students with complex needs
*Able to follow routines and adapt to each student’s individual needs
*Eager to learn and develop within a specialist setting
Experience with SEN, care work, PMLD, or supporting non-verbal children is an advantage but not essential. Graduates in Psychology, Sociology, Health & Social Care, Education or similar fields are encouraged to apply.
