Randstad is currently partnering with a prominent regional private organisation, dedicated to providing exceptional care and support for children and young people. We are seeking a resilient, compassionate, and organised Deputy Manager to join their leadership team within a residential children’s home in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
This is a pivotal role where you will support the Service Manager in creating a safe, nurturing environment that empowers young people to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities: Leading by Example
As Deputy Manager, you will be a hands-on leader, balancing administrative oversight with direct care. Your duties will include:
Operational Leadership: Assuming full responsibility for the service in the manager’s absence and providing daily supervision to the staff team.
Direct Support: Working alongside your team to deliver high-quality care, including undertaking personal care tasks and responding to emergency calls.
Outcome Management: Developing, reviewing, and observing care plans to ensure every young person’s specific needs and goals are met.
Stakeholder Liaison: Building professional relationships with families, healthcare professionals, and external partners to ensure a holistic approach to care.
Culture & Compliance: Maintaining a positive team culture while ensuring all work aligns with organisational policies, data protection, and safeguarding legislation.
Requirements: What You’ll Need
To excel in this role, you must be a professional who remains calm under pressure and possesses a deep understanding of the care sector.
Qualifications: You must hold a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent).
Experience: Proven experience working directly with children and young people in a professional care setting.
Skills: Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) and strong organisational abilities.
Logistics: A valid UK driving license and access to a car for business use.
Flexibility: Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including attending meetings and mandatory training.
