Job Description:
Deputy Manager - Community Learning Disability TeamMake a Difference in Adult Social Care We’re currently working on Locum Deputy Manager for their Community Learning Disability Team in Bolton.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated professional to take on a leadership role within a supportive, well established team. You’ll help deliver high-quality services to adults with learning disabilities, ensuring care and support is person-centred, safe, and focused on achieving the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities: *Deputise for the Team Manager as required, ensuring smooth day-to-day service delivery.
*Provide leadership, supervision, and guidance to staff, supporting them to deliver effective practice and achieve team objectives.
*Manage risk at organisational, professional, and individual levels, maintaining high standards of care and compliance.
*Assist in the allocation of referrals and decision-making around the appropriate level of response to meet assessed needs.
*Oversee quality assurance and performance monitoring, contributing to continuous service improvement.
*Support effective resource and budget management, ensuring best use of available funding.
*Promote safeguarding best practice, ensuring adults are protected and supported in line with local and national policy.
*Prepare, chair, and participate in safeguarding investigations, complaints, and professional decision-making forums.
*Support recruitment, induction, and staff development, helping build a confident, capable, and motivated workforce.
*Lead and support change management, contributing to service innovation and the council’s pursuit of excellence in adult social care.
To be considered for this role, ideally you will:
*Have substantial experience working with adults with learning disabilities in a statutory or similar setting.
*Be a qualified professional Social Worker with relevant registration - Social Work England.
*Demonstrate strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
*Have excellent knowledge of safeguarding adults, risk management, and Care Act principles.
*Be confident in managing budgets, performance, and quality assurance processes.
*Be committed to person-centred practice and continuous service improvement.
