A well-established high street law firm in the Oldham area is seeking an experienced residential conveyancer to join a stable and self-sufficient conveyancing department. This role is initially covering maternity leave starting in May, but is intended as a permanent hire, with a clear opportunity to build and retain a long-term caseload.
The role is fully office-based and would suit someone who enjoys handling matters from start to finish rather than working in a high-volume, factory-style environment.
The role:
*Full residential conveyancing caseload from instruction to completion
*Current caseload circa 100 files
*Mix of work including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, new builds, shared ownership and transfers of equity
*Strong focus on title checking and quality of work
*Direct client contact throughout the transaction
*Pre-contract work supported internally; post-completion currently handled within the team
Candidate profile:
*Minimum of 5 years fee-earning experience in residential conveyancing
*Qualified or non-qualified candidates considered
*Confident running files independently from beginning to end
*Comfortable working fully office-based
*Strong client-handling and communication skills
*Preference for quality-led conveyancing over volume-driven work
Package and environment:
*Established conveyancing team with a strong billing track record (historically billing in excess of 4x salary)
