Job Description:
Underwriter – BTL / HPP
Purpose Underwrite Buy to Let & Home Purchase Plan applications, manage cases from application to offer, ensure credit policy compliance, control risk and meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
*Underwrite & offer within mandate & service standards
*Request/verify additional information
*Proactively resolve issues without adding risk
*Liaise with introducers & stakeholders
*Maintain accurate system records
*Manage pipeline & documentation
*Suggest risk-compliant process improvements
*Train colleagues & support teams
*Handle Credit Committee queries
*Monitor existing deals & report
*Assist post-completion when needed
Requirements
*2 years underwriting residential/BTL/HPP (with mandate)
*Advantage: bridging/commercial experience
*Strong analytical, investigative & problem-solving skills
*Excellent communication & negotiation
*Solid FCA/PRA residential finance knowledge
*Degree level education
*Able to work independently & in small, fast-growth team
