We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation and service run smoothly. Responsibilities
*Must have 1 year’s experience in the UK
*Must have a DBS
*Must have experience working in a nursing/care home/hospital
*Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meal preparation, ensuring all items are ready for cooking and service.
*Support chefs in cooking and plating dishes according to established recipes and standards.
*Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing utensils, pots, and pans, as well as cleaning surfaces.
*Follow food safety guidelines to ensure a hygienic work environment and safe food handling practices.
*Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting any shortages or issues.
*Participate in catering events, assisting with setup, service, and breakdown as required.
*Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and excellent customer satisfaction.
Experience
*Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred in a nursing/care home but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
*Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in culinary settings is advantageous.
*Experience in catering or restaurant settings will be beneficial for this role.
*A passion for culinary arts and meal preparation is essential, along with the ability to work effectively within a team.
Hourly Rate
£11.50 - £14.00 Per Hour
