Job Description:
An established specialist college setting in Leeds is seeking a dedicated and motivated SENCo to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis, starting as soon as possible.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or SEND professional looking to take on a SENCO role within a supportive and student-centred environment. The setting supports college leavers with Autism find employment through supported training and placements.
The Role
As SENCO, you will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of SEND provision across the setting. Key responsibilities include:
*Leading SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice
*Managing and reviewing EHCPs and individual support plans
*Working collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff, parents, and external professionals
*Advising and supporting staff on effective SEND strategies and interventions
*Monitoring pupil progress and ensuring appropriate support is in place
*Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, SEND, and internal policies
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a proactive and organised professional who:
*Holds a recognised teaching qualification
*Has experience supporting pupils with Autism and complex SEND
*Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination
*Has strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
*Is passionate about inclusive education and improving outcomes for pupils with SEND
*Experience within a special school, alternative provision, or specialist setting is highly desirable.
