Credit Controller – Experienced Hire

We’re supporting a growing finance team in their search for an experienced Credit Controller someone who brings confidence, accuracy, and a calm, solutions-focused approach to managing a busy ledger.
This role suits a Credit Controller who enjoys ownership, builds strong relationships with stakeholders, and knows how to keep cash flow moving in the right direction without compromising service.
What you’ll be doing
• Managing your own ledger with responsibility for reducing aged debt and improving cash collection.
• Handling daily order holds, working closely with Customer Services and Sales to resolve issues quickly.
• Chasing overdue payments by phone and email, maintaining a professional and proactive approach.
• Allocating cash accurately across multiple accounts
• Investigating and resolving invoice queries, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
• Conducting credit checks, setting credit limits, and supporting risk assessment.
• Preparing statements, reports, and month-end information for the wider finance team.
• Building strong internal and external relationships to support smooth credit processes.
What we’re looking for
• Proven experience in Credit Control ideally within a fast-paced or multi-ledger environment.
• Confident communicator who can balance firmness with professionalism.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of ledger management.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) is highly beneficial.
• Someone who takes ownership, stays organised, and keeps calm under pressure.
• A team player who’s happy to collaborate but equally comfortable working independently.
