Business Development Manager – Southampton
Salary: Up to £50,000 basic + uncapped commission and bonuses (huge earning potential)
Location: Lutterworth
Working Hours: 09:00 – 17:30, Monday – Friday
Job Type: Permanent
The Opportunity
An established and fast-growing logistics and transport solutions business is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support continued growth. This role is ideally suited to a proven B2B sales professional with a consultative approach and a strong background in selling services rather than products.
Key Responsibilities
*Generate new B2B business and develop a strong sales pipeline through proactive outreach
*Win new clients by selling service-based solutions rather than physical products
*Conduct meetings with clients face-to-face, by phone, and via online platforms
*Build and maintain long-term client relationships
*Understand client requirements and deliver tailored, value-led solutions
*Confidently advise clients on the full range of services offered
Candidate Requirements
*Proven B2B sales experience, ideally within a services-led environment
*Experience within the transport and/or logistics sector is highly advantageous
*Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*Professional and confident telephone manner
*Good IT skills, including CRM systems and spreadsheets
*Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
*Proactive, self-starting approach with the confidence to build a pipeline from scratch
Personal Attributes
*Highly motivated with a strong desire to exceed targets
*Well organised with strong time-management and prioritisation skills
*Collaborative and professional team player
