Job Description:
We are looking to appoint dedicated and enthusiastic teacher of Sociology to start ASAP. This role offers the opportunity to work with motivated students, delivering high-quality teaching that inspires ambition, builds confidence, and enables outstanding achievement.
You will establish a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment, setting high expectations for learning, behaviour and attendance. With strong subject knowledge and a commitment to professional development, you will plan and deliver well-structured lessons, develop engaging resources, and promote high standards of literacy and numeracy. Effective use of formative and summative assessment will be central to your practice, ensuring students make excellent progress and respond positively to feedback.
In addition to teaching, you will act as a tutor to a group of students, providing academic guidance, pastoral support and mentoring throughout their time in sixth form. This includes monitoring progress and attendance, liaising with parents and colleagues, delivering personal development sessions, and preparing high-quality references to support progression to higher education.
