Senior School Administrator - East London
Full Time | Long Term | Term-Time Only
Hourly Pay Rate: 18.34ph
A thriving and well-respected school in East London is seeking an exceptional Senior Administrator to join their team on a long-term basis, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.
If you are a highly organised, confident communicator who thrives in a fast-paced school environment, this is a fantastic opportunity to take on a pivotal role supporting the smooth operation of the whole school.
As the school’s Senior Administrator, you will play a central role in ensuring that key processes run efficiently and professionally. You’ll be working closely with senior leadership, teaching staff, governors, parents, pupils, and external agencies — so strong communication skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys responsibility, variety, and being the go-to person for high-level administrative support within a school setting.
Key Responsibilities
You will oversee a wide range of administrative and operational duties, including:
*Preparing briefing notes and key documents
*Managing the whole-school calendar — identifying clashes, scheduling and rearranging meetings, monitoring absences, and supporting SLT
*Handling room bookings through the online system
*Managing inbound/outbound phone calls and general email inboxes
*Recruitment administration and coordination
*Updating the school website and preparing newsletters
*Maintaining staff structures, directories, and distribution lists
*Supporting updates to MDT and First Aid timetables
*Minute-taking as required
*Arranging meetings, room setups, and refreshments
*Coordinating prospective parent visits
*Supporting governor communications and FGB meeting resources
*Preparing suspension letters
*Providing reception cover when needed
Desirable Experience
(Not essential but highly advantageous)
*Coordinating sickness cover staff
*Finance administration (invoices, purchase orders, etc.)
*Previous use of SIMS
*Personal Assistant experience
*Strong IT proficiency across school platforms and systems
Working Hours
*8:00am – 4:00pm
*30–60 min unpaid lunch break
*Term time only
*Enhanced DBS Required
If you are a proactive, reliable, and highly skilled administrator ready to take on a senior role within a welcoming and busy school office, apply today.
This school is eager to meet strong candidates quickly — don’t miss the opportunity to secure an interview.
