We are working with a leading construction company in Wiltshire on a new Estimator or Senior Estimator role!
As Estimator, you’ll be the critical link between winning work and delivering it profitably. You’ll prepare comprehensive cost estimates for tenders, work closely with the commercial and pre-construction teams, and – here’s where it gets really interesting – you’ll play a pivotal role in developing the next generation of estimating talent.
Your day-to-day will include:
*Preparing accurate, competitive estimates for construction projects from concept through to detailed design
*Analysing tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to identify costs and risks
*Building strong relationships with the supply chain to secure competitive pricing
*Presenting estimates and tender strategies to senior management
*Mentoring estimators and trainees, sharing your expertise and industry knowledge
*Contributing to continuous improvement of estimating processes and systems
What We’re Looking For
You’re not fresh to this. You’ve got a track record of producing winning tenders in the construction sector, and you understand the commercial realities of our industry.
You’ll bring:
*Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry
*Ability to undertake take-offs and develop costs from first principles
*Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs
*Excellent analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
*Confidence in your abilities and the communication skills to influence stakeholders
*A genuine interest in developing others – because the best professionals lift others as they climb
*Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office
