Hays Education is delighted to be supporting a highly regarded grammar school in Gloucester in the recruitment of a full-time Teacher of Chemistry to cover a maternity leave. The school is known for its strong academic reputation, highly motivated learners and a respectful, purposeful atmosphere.You will be joining a high-performing Science department with excellent facilities, supportive leadership and a sustained record of outstanding student outcomes at GCSE and A-level.
Your new role
As a Teacher of Chemistry, you will teach across Key Stage 3, GCSE and A-Level, delivering high-quality lessons that stretch, challenge and inspire learners. You will plan and prepare lessons, assess progress, and contribute to the continued success of the Chemistry and wider Science faculty.This is a full-time maternity cover starting immediately after the Easter holidays, providing continuity for exam groups and Sixth Form classes. You will work closely with experienced colleagues within a collaborative team who are committed to excellent teaching and academic excellence.
What you’ll need to succeed
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
*Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry with confidence teaching KS3, GCSE and A-level
*The right to work in the UK
*An Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to obtain one
*A commitment to maintaining high standards in a selective school environment
*ECTs with strong subject expertise are welcome to apply
