Our Client is an established manufacturer operating in a high-quality industrial sector, known for its focus on innovation, robust processes and a collaborative culture. The business values practical problem solving, continuous improvement and employee development. Team members benefit from a supportive workplace where new ideas are encouraged and technical growth is prioritised.
Role Summary
Our Client is hiring a Production Engineer to support growth and improve manufacturing performance. This role is central to delivering operational excellence: you will diagnose production issues, implement process improvements and work cross-functionally to raise output, quality and safety standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to make a measurable impact on product yield, lead times and overall efficiency.
Responsibilities
*Analyse production processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies and quality issues
*Lead small to medium continuous improvement projects using data-driven methods
*Develop and update work instructions, process flows and technical documentation
*Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventative actions
*Commission and optimise equipment, liaising with maintenance and suppliers
*Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and present findings to stakeholders
*Support new product introductions and process scale-up activities
*Provide technical support to shopfloor teams and train operators on best practice
Essential Skills & Experience
*Proven experience (typically 2–5 years) in a production or process engineering role within manufacturing
*Strong problem-solving skills and experience with root cause analysis tools (e.g. 8D, Ishikawa)
*Practical knowledge of process control, tooling, production layout and quality assurance
*Competent with data analysis (Excel or equivalent) and comfortable using metrics to drive decisions
*Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
*Effective communication skills and experience working with multi-disciplinary teams
*Right to work as required for on-site operational roles
Desirable Skills & Experience
*Formal training in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Yellow/Green belt) or continuous improvement methodologies
*Experience with ERP/MRP systems, PLC basics, or factory automation
*Background in new product introduction or commissioning complex equipment
*Project management experience and supplier development exposure
Preferred Education and Experience
*Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or similar engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience/apprenticeship
*Demonstrable track record of delivering measurable process improvements
