Job Description:
Clinical Negligence Solicitor
*Location: England & Wales
*Job Type: Full-time
*Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Our client are a client-focused law firm committed to delivering high-quality legal services and they are looking for an experienced and compassionate Medical/Clinical Negligence Solicitor to handle a varied and meaningful caseload. This role is ideal for a solicitor passionate about representing clients in complex and sensitive matters, offering an excellent opportunity for career progression within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Manage your own caseload of clinical negligence claims from inception to settlement or trial.
*Handle matters including medical misdiagnosis, delayed diagnosis, surgical and treatment errors, GP and hospital negligence, dental negligence, fatal claims, and dependency claims.
*Draft Letters of Claim and Response in accordance with the Pre-Action Protocol.
*Instruct and liaise with medical experts and counsel.
*Assess liability, causation, and quantum.
*Conduct negotiations and settlements with defendants and insurers.
*Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with SRA and procedural requirements.
*Provide sensitive, professional client care throughout complex and emotive cases.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
*Experience in clinical negligence matters ( 3 years PQE ideally – strong candidates at all levels considered).
*Ability to manage a caseload independently.
*Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
*Excellent communication and client-care skills.
*High attention to detail and case management ability.
*Desirable: Experience with high-value or complex claims, knowledge of CPR and limitation issues, experience instructing medical experts and counsel, familiarity with case management systems (LEAP preferred but not essential).
