Desian Education are currently recruiting a dedicated and experienced Year 6 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with ADHD in a welcoming and supportive primary school on the Wirral.
The Role:
The successful candidate will work closely with a Year 6 pupil on a one-to-one basis, providing tailored academic and emotional support to help them access the curriculum, remain engaged in learning, and prepare for the transition to secondary education.
This is a full-time role 8.30am-3.30pm Monday-Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with ADHD
*Support learning across the KS2 curriculum, particularly in core subjects
*Implement strategies to support focus, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour
*Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
*Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
*Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly ADHD
*A strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
*The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
*A calm, patient, and proactive approach
*A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
