SEND Teaching Assistant – WatfordLocation: Watford, Hertfordshire
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Term-time only / Permanent or Fixed-term
We are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Watford. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs to achieve their full potential.
The RoleThe successful candidate will:
*Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and speech & language needs
*Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and engaging positively in classroom activities
*Implement strategies and interventions set by the class teacher and SENCO
*Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and independence
*Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual needs
*Support pupils during transitions, breaktimes and lunchtimes where required
*Work closely with teachers, SEN staff and external professionals
*Maintain accurate records and uphold safeguarding procedures
The Ideal Candidate Will:*Have experience working with children with SEND in a school or similar setting (desirable)
*Be patient, nurturing and resilient
*Have strong communication and teamwork skills
*Be proactive and able to follow guidance while using initiative
*Be committed to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
*Be willing to undertake relevant training
