SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Kingston Upon Thames
Contract: January - July 2026
Role: Full-time
Hours: 8:30am - 3:20pm
Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-regarded specialist secondary SEN school in Kingston Upon Thames, supporting pupils with complex Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The school offers a calm, structured, and nurturing environment with a strong focus on personalised learning, emotional wellbeing, and independence.
The Role You will:
* Support pupils with complex ASD on a 1:1 and small-group basis in KS3 and KS4
* Deliver support in line with EHCPs and personalised plans
* Assist with a highly differentiated and individualised curriculum
* Implement sensory regulation strategies and structured interventions
* Use visual supports and clear routines to promote engagement
* Encourage independence, social skills, and life skills
* Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists
The Ideal Teaching Assistant * Experience working with SEN pupils or a strong interest in SEN education
* Patient, resilient, and calm under pressure
* Compassionate, proactive, and a strong team player
Requirements * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (child and adult)
* Right to work in the UK
* Two professional references
* Safeguarding training
Location & Accessibility * On-site parking
