Job Description:
SEN Teacher – SEMH Provision (KS1 / KS2)
Location: Wigan
Employer: Desian Education
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Long-term supply to cover sickness absence (until end of the Academic Year)
Desian Education is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to work in a specialist primary setting in Wigan, supporting pupils aged 5–11 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for a experienced SEN Teacher to join a nurturing and supportive school community that places strong emphasis on high expectations, positive relationships, and personalised learning. The role will involve teaching across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, adapting learning to meet individual needs and supporting pupils’ academic, emotional, and social development.

*Supporting holistic development, including social and emotional skills
*Working collaboratively with support staff and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
*Experience as an SEN Teacher, particularly SEMH, is highly desirable
*Strong behaviour management skills with a calm, nurturing approach
*Flexible, resilient, and passionate about inclusive education
*Committed to supporting every child to reach their full potential
