Night Shift Customs Clearance Coordinator (Perishable Goods)
Our client, a leading logistics and supply chain organisation, is currently seeking an experienced Customs Clearance Coordinator to join their night operations team. This role focuses on managing the customs clearance of perishable goods entering the UK by air and road from the EU, ensuring full regulatory compliance and smooth end-to-end processing. EXPERIENCE IS ESSENTIAL - YOU MUST OF WORKED FOR A GFREIGHT COMPANY DEALING WITH AIR / ROAD IMPORTS AND HAVE STRONG NOWLEDGE OF CUSTOMS AND CUSTOMS ENTRIES ****
Shift Pattern:
*4 nights on / 4 nights off
*12-hour shifts, starting at 7:00pm
*Training can be completed on day shifts (Monday to Friday) before moving onto nights, or directly on night shifts if preferred.
Key Responsibilities*Ensure full compliance with Border Force, Port Health and APHA regulations for perishable imports.
*Coordinate closely with Transport Operations to monitor shipments in transit and manage the clearance process from arrival through to release.
*Handle and control ETSF entries, ensuring all Border Force requirements are met and import controls are completed accurately.
*Manage APHA applications and oversee the customs clearance process from start to finish.
*Communicate effectively with authorities, airlines, transport teams and customers, providing regular updates and resolving any issues promptly.
Skills & Experience Required*Proven experience with Port Health and Plant Health systems, customs declarations, ETSF procedures and the latest EU import border processes.
*Strong working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office, with high numerical accuracy and the ability to manage complex data sets.
*Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when processing documentation and maintaining accurate records.
*Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills, able to proactively chase shipment status, collaborate with internal teams and keep customers informed.
