Location: Ilford, London Borough of Redbridge School Type: Pupil Refferal Unit
Start Date: ASAP / Next Term
Contract: Full-time (Long-term to Permanent)
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
Tradewind Recruitment is working with a specialist SEN client school in Ilford, Redbridge, to recruit a dedicated and resilient SEN Teacher to work with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This provision supports secondary-aged pupils who have struggled in mainstream settings and benefit from a highly structured, therapeutic and nurturing environment. The school places a strong emphasis on emotional regulation, behaviour support, and positive relationships, helping students to re-engage with learning and achieve personal and academic success.
The Role: * Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEMH and additional needs
* Create a calm, consistent and supportive classroom environment
* Support pupils with emotional wellbeing, behaviour for learning and social development
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral staff and external professionals
* Contribute to personalised learning and behaviour support plans
The Ideal Candidate: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Experience working with SEMH, SEN or in alternative provision (preferred but not essential)
* Strong behaviour management skills and a trauma-informed approach
* Patient, empathetic and resilient with a passion for supporting vulnerable learners
* Confident in building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
