Job Description:
A respected construction consultancy specialising in residential and mixed-use developments is seeking a capable and driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to take a leading role on several large-scale projects across Greater London. This is a client-facing, consultancy-side role with a strong focus on cost control, value management, and project leadership throughout the full development lifecycle.
With an expanding portfolio of schemes across housing, regeneration and build-to-rent sectors, this opportunity is ideal for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with solid consultancy experience and a desire to manage complex, design-led projects.
Senior Quantity Surveyor - The Role
The appointed Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee both pre- and post-contract cost management, including cost planning, contract administration, and change control. You’ll work closely with developers, housing associations and local authorities to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will also lead on procurement, review contractor proposals and ensure financial reporting is accurate and timely across all stages of the project.
Senior Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities
*Prepare, develop and manage cost plans and budgets
*Produce detailed cost reports and financial statements for clients
*Lead tendering and procurement, including documentation, analysis, and recommendation
*Manage contract administration and change control processes
*Collaborate with project managers, architects, and external consultants
*Review risk, forecasts and value engineering options throughout the project lifecycle
Senior Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements
*Minimum 5 years’ experience in a consultancy or client-side environment
*Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar
*Pre- and post-contract knowledge essential
*MRICS qualified or actively working towards
*Strong residential and/or mixed-use project experience
*Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
*Confident in leading projects and junior staff
