Job Description:
Delighted to be recruiting an Operations Manager for a long-established, well-invested manufacturing SME which operates in the packaging sector based in Merseyside.

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to lead a team of c. 25. If you thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and have a passion for safety, quality, and continuous improvement, this could be the perfect next step in your career with the potential to develop into an Operations Director role.

About the Role
You’ll take ownership of the full production function, driving a strong Health & Safety culture and leading behavioural change across the team. With direct line management responsibility, you’ll ensure smooth day-to-day operations, maintain excellent employee relations, and support the development of your team.

You’ll work closely with the Technical and Quality teams to ensure the business meets — and exceeds — accreditation standards. You’ll also play a key role in product improvement and development as they continue to grow.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee production staffing, including holidays and shift cover
• Ensure daily workflow meets production schedules and dispatch deadlines
• Drive continuous improvement to boost productivity, reduce waste, and enhance quality
• Support skills development across all operational employees
• Maintain accurate and timely shop-floor data
• Lead daily team meetings and promote strong communication, training, and safety
• Work with QA & Technical teams to uphold quality standards and implement corrective actions
• Manage Environmental Agency, packaging waste, and CCA reporting
• Collaborate with the sales team on new business opportunities and product development
