Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced, confident, and motivated Room Leader to join our established early years setting in E11, East London. The successful candidate will lead their room effectively, support their team, and ensure outstanding care and education for children aged 0–5 years in line with the EYFS framework.
Key Responsibilities*Take full responsibility for the daily management of the room
*Lead, supervise, and support a team of nursery practitioners
*Plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality learning activities
*Act as a Key Person and support children’s individual development
*Complete and oversee observations, assessments, and learning journals
*Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and nursery policies
*Build strong, professional relationships with parents and carers
*Support staff development through guidance and mentoring
*Work closely with the management team to maintain high standards
Requirements*Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or above)
*Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in an early years setting
*Previous experience as a Room Leader or Senior Practitioner
*Strong knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding procedures
*Confident leadership, organisation, and communication skills
*Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable*Paediatric First Aid qualification
*Experience supporting SEND
*Familiarity with nursery software (e.g. Tapestry, Famly)
*Experience with staff supervision and planning
