Our client is a well established food manufacturing business based in North Yorkshire. They specialise in producing a wide range of high quality products for retailers, manufacturer and food service customers.
About the role -
As Food Production Cleaning Supervisor, you will oversee hygiene and sanitation across the production facility, ensuring compliance with food safety standards. The role involves supervising cleaning staff, conducting inspections of equipment and work areas, performing hands on cleaning and reporting any faults or safety issues. You will ensure all health and safety procedures are followed while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety. This position is ideal for someone already in a supervisory role or looking to take the next step into supervision, with full training and support provided.
Key Responsibilities:
*Supervise and manage hygiene and sanitation procedures across the production facility.
*Conduct regular inspections of equipment, machinery and work areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
*Oversee and train cleaning staff in proper use of equipment, PPE and cleaning chemicals.
*Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, inspections and compliance with food safety standards.
*Report any faults, defects, or safety concerns promptly to management and support corrective actions.
*Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures, chemical handling protocols and company guidelines.
*Implement and maintain a "clean as you go" approach, keeping work areas, walkways and exits clear.
Skills & Experience:
*Ideally someone with a supervisory background, though training and support will be provided for the right candidate with existing factory cleaning experience.
*Experience in hygiene, sanitation, or quality assurance within a food production or manufacturing environment.
*Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
*Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
*Good communication and organizational skills.
