Vivid Healthcare are currently recruiting for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join a busy acute medical team in Dorset on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive MDT environment, delivering high-quality care across acute medical wards.
The Role:
You will be responsible for assessing and treating patients admitted to acute medical wards, supporting timely discharge planning and rehabilitation. The role involves working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure safe, effective, and efficient patient flow.
Key Responsibilities:
*Undertake comprehensive OT assessments for patients on acute medical wards
*Deliver appropriate interventions to promote independence and safe discharge
*Complete functional assessments, cognitive screening, and equipment provision
*Contribute to discharge planning, including liaison with families and community services
*Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with service standards
*Participate in MDT meetings and case discussions
Requirements:
*HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
*Proven experience working in an acute hospital setting (Band 6 level or equivalent)
*Strong discharge planning and rehabilitation skills
*Ability to work independently and as part of an MDT
*Excellent communication and organisational skills
*Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
