Senior Planner
Location: Castle Donington
Penguin Recruitment is working on behalf of a well established and growing planning consultancy to recruit a Senior Planner for their Castle Donington office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Planner to join a respected private consultancy with a strong regional presence, working on a diverse portfolio of planning projects across multiple development sectors. The role offers a high level of responsibility, autonomy, and the chance to play a key role in supporting clients through the planning process from early feasibility to determination and post-consent stages.
The Role As a Senior Planner, you will take ownership of your own caseload while contributing to the wider success of the planning team. Key responsibilities will include:
* Managing and delivering planning applications across a range of development types

* Preparing planning statements, appeals, and pre-application submissions

* Providing clear, commercially focused planning advice to clients

* Undertaking site appraisals and planning policy assessments

* Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams

* Supporting and mentoring junior planners as required

About You To be successful in this Senior Planner role, you will ideally have:
* A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline

* MRTPI status or be working towards chartership

* Several years’ experience within a consultancy or local authority environment

* Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and development management

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* The ability to manage projects independently and work to deadlines
