Client Due Diligence Team Leader - Birmingham (Hybrid - 2 Office & 3 Remote)

A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Client Due Diligence (CDD) Team Leader to oversee and manage their CDD team. This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing team, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to a culture of excellence in client service.

The Role

The Client Due Diligence Team Leader will manage a team of CDD Officers and Senior Officers responsible for conducting due diligence on high-risk clients, including corporate entities and their associated individuals. The role ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements while maintaining high service standards for clients and fee earners.

Key responsibilities include:
*Leading and managing a team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to support professional development.
*Ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory frameworks, including AML regulations, sanctions regimes, and other relevant legislation.
*Monitoring workflow, allocating work, and managing the pipeline to maintain speed, quality, and compliance.
*Acting as a point of escalation for complex or sensitive CDD matters.
*Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including fee earners and partners, to ensure seamless onboarding and CDD processes.
*Driving continuous improvement initiatives, including adoption of new systems, technology, and process enhancements.
*Keeping the team up-to-date on regulatory changes and industry best practices.
About You

The ideal candidate will have:
*Extensive experience in corporate client due diligence within a legal environment.
*Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
*Expertise in managing high-volume, complex work while maintaining regulatory compliance and service quality.
*Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills.
*A proactive, adaptable approach with the ability to lead change in a fast-paced environment.
*Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships across teams and departments.
