SEMI SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Job Description:
Our client is an award winning firm of Chartered Accountants who provide high quality accounting and advisory services to their clients. they are seeking a motivated Semi-Senior Accountant to join their Accounts team.
Duties will include:
Client Portfolio Management and Communication
*Support the day to day management of a varied client portfolio, assisting with workflow planning to meet deadlines.
*Act as a key point of contact for clients, responding to queries and escalating matters where appropriate.
*Assist with client meetings and calls, including preparation of information and follow up actions.
Compliance and Technical Work
*Support the preparation of statutory accounts, ensuring appropriate treatment of core accounting areas such as assets, loans, property income, and deferred tax.
*Assist in the production of management accounts with clear and accurate commentary.
*Prepare personal tax returns for individuals, including income from salaries, dividends, and property.
*Support compliance work across corporation tax and other filings where required, with guidance from senior colleagues.
*Develop an understanding of accounting treatments across a range of scenarios, including basic liquidation principles.
Reviewing and Quality Assurance
*Review own work carefully to ensure accuracy and completeness before submission.
*Assist with reviewing work prepared by junior team members where appropriate, providing constructive feedback.
Advisory and Forecasting
*Support the identification of advisory opportunities within client accounts.
*Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and scenario analysis, with guidance from senior colleagues.
Team Support and Processes
*Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Accounts, Tax, Payroll, and Advisory teams.
*Assist with system and software queries when needed and keep records up to date.
*Contribute positively to a supportive, collaborative, and professional team environment.
Skills & Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Experience
*Part qualified ACA or ACCA or working towards a recognised accountancy qualification.
*Experience working within a UK accountancy practice, supporting the preparation of statutory accounts and financial information.
*Exposure to preparing management accounts and assisting with personal tax returns for individuals.
*Familiarity with UK accounting standards and basic compliance requirements.
*Experience using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
