The Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer Role
This role is focused on delivering high-quality planned and reactive maintenance across retail and distribution sites. While air conditioning is the core discipline, you’ll be expected to apply a multi-skilled approach, using solid mechanical and electrical knowledge to support HVAC systems in customer-facing environments. You’ll work independently and alongside other engineers or subcontractors to ensure systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs
* Fault-finding and repair across split systems, VRFs, AHUs, DX systems and occasional central plant
* Supporting upgrade and retrofit works with minimal disruption to trading sites
* Producing accurate quotations for remedial works and replacements
* Maintaining FGAS compliance documentation and internal reporting
* Working closely with site managers, engineers and subcontractors
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (minimum)
* F-Gas Certification (C&G 2079 - Category 1)
* Experience in a mobile commercial or retail maintenance role
* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability
* Good mechanical and electrical building services knowledge
* Full UK driving licence with no more than six points
Desirable
* NVQ Level 3 in Air Conditioning or equivalent
