Job Description:
Teaching Assistant - Secondary School (SEND Focus)
Location: Southport
Hours: Full-time, 5 days per week
Working Time: 08:30 - 15:30, Monday to Friday
Start Date: Immediate
Tradewind are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in the Southport area. This is a full-time role, working consistently throughout the school week, supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will have experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), either within a specialist setting or through SEND support roles in mainstream schools.
The role will involve:
* Supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs, both in and out of the classroom
* Working closely with teaching staff and the SEN team to support learning and wellbeing
* Providing one-to-one or small group support where required
* Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
The ideal candidate will:
* Have previous experience working within SEND or a specialist setting
* Be flexible and have no travel restrictions
* Be patient, proactive, and committed to supporting young people
* Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
* Be reliable and available to work full-time hours
This role is ideal for someone passionate about inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional needs in a secondary school setting.
