Job Title: Rides Technician
Location: Camden, London, NW1
Salary: £33,000- £40,000
40 hour week with weekend work on a rota
Example of shifts 9am-5pm, 12noon-8pm, 7am-4pm
Job Purpose
The Rides Technician is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of amusement rides and attractions within a indoor Park. The role ensures all rides operate reliably, safely, and in full compliance with statutory regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and company standards.


Key Responsibilities
Ride Maintenance & Operations
*Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on rides and attractions
*Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults
*Perform daily, weekly, and monthly ride inspections and safety checks
*Ensure rides are set up, tested, and signed off as safe before public operation
*Respond promptly to ride breakdowns to minimise downtime
Health, Safety & Compliance
*Ensure full compliance, manufacturer manuals, and internal safety procedures
*Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, and fault logs
*Support ride audits, safety inspections, and external examinations
*Report defects, near misses, and safety concerns immediately
Operational Support
*Work closely with ride operators and park management to ensure smooth daily operations
*Assist with ride installations, commissioning, decommissioning, and modifications
*Support emergency ride evacuations when required
*Participate in on-call or shift rota, including weekends and public holidays
Skills & Experience
Essential
*Proven experience as a Rides Technician, Maintenance Engineer, or similar role within theme parks, leisure attractions, or amusement rides
*Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
*Good understanding of health & safety legislation relating to amusement devices
*Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
*Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and evenings
