I’m working with a fast-growing tech company that’s transforming how businesses manage safety and compliance across thousands of sites. Their platform is built on a robust .NET ecosystem and is scaling rapidly—now they need a?Data Services Lead?to take full ownership of the data layer and help drive that growth. This is a hybrid role and would be expected to be in the office in Derby 2 / 3 days per week, this is mandatory.
This is a hands-on, backend-focused role where you’ll take full ownership of the data layer as a Data Services Lead—from architecture and performance to compliance and BI. If you’re someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving real-world problems, and wants to shape both technology and process, this could be a great fit.
What You’ll Be Doing as a Data Services Lead:
*Designing and optimising schemas, stored procedures, and SQL queries
*Managing distributed databases across multiple regions
*Setting up and configuring Azure SQL and Azure Storage
*Monitoring live systems and resolving performance issues (deadlocks, spikes, etc.)
*Leading compliance workflows and documentation in a regulated environment
*Supporting BI delivery (Power BI experience helpful, but this isn’t a BI role)
What They are Looking For:
*Strong experience in MSSQL, data architecture, and engineering
*Deep understanding of query optimisation and execution plans
*Experience with Azure cloud services and .NET/Entity Framework
*Comfortable working in regulated environments (e.g., GDPR)
*Familiarity with ETL processes, semantic models, and Power BI/DAX
*Someone who’s backend-focused—not just reporting, but building the engine
