Appointed Representative Investigations Consultant
?? Swindon (Hybrid – 2 days in the office)
? 6-month temporary assignment
?? Competitive hourly rate – dependent on experience
Are you an analytical financial services professional with a strong understanding of the Appointed Representative (AR) regime? Do you enjoy digging into data, identifying emerging risks and helping shape robust regulatory controls?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected financial services organisation on a 6-month temporary basis, supporting the proactive identification and management of risk across AR firms and advisers.
The Opportunity
You’ll play a key role in analysing AR activity, identifying behavioural and regulatory risks, and recommending practical, proportionate actions to reduce consumer harm. This role offers genuine variety, influence and the chance to help strengthen risk and control frameworks within a regulated environment.
Working hybrid (2 days per week in the Swindon office), you’ll collaborate closely with compliance, governance and first-line teams.
Key Responsibilities
*Analyse data, MI and intelligence to identify emerging risks, trends and behavioural concerns
*Interpret findings clearly and provide actionable recommendations
*Support AR monitoring, assurance and governance activities
*Contribute to audits, risk assessments and regulatory control reviews
*Help improve and shape processes within a developing function
*Engage with stakeholders to validate findings and agree appropriate actions
What We’re Looking For
*Financial services experience (essential), ideally within an Appointed Representative network
*Knowledge of FCA regulation, specifically the AR regime
*Understanding of risk & controls frameworks, governance and regulatory assurance
*Diploma Level 4 qualified (or working towards)
*Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make sound, balanced judgements
*Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills
*Resilient, organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities
