Professional Negligence Litigation Solicitor
£45k - £60k
London / Hybrid
The firm are recognised by the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners UK independent legal directories as a top-tier law firm in all of key practice, they are now seeking a motivated and experienced Professional Negligence Litigation Solicitor to join an inclusive and diverse legal team. Responsibilities
As a Professional Negligence Litigation Solicitor, your primary responsibilities will include:
*Managing a varied caseload of professional negligence litigation matters for both claimants and defendants, including claims against solicitors, accountants, surveyors, architects, and other professionals.
*Providing high-quality legal advice and strategies to clients at all stages of the litigation process.
*Drafting, reviewing, and managing legal documentation, including letters of claim, pleadings, witness statements, and instructions to Counsel.
*Conducting negotiations and dispute resolution processes, including mediation, arbitration, and settlement discussions.
*Liaising effectively with clients, expert witnesses, insurers, and other stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
*Keeping abreast of changes in legislation, case law, and other legal developments relevant to professional negligence litigation.
*Contributing to business development initiatives by building and maintaining strong client relationships and networking within the profession.
*Demonstrating a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace and when engaging with clients.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:
*Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with a current practising certificate.
*A minimum of 1 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in professional negligence or similar areas of civil litigation.
*Strong understanding of the Pre-Action Protocol for Professional Negligence Claims and relevant court procedures.
*Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills, with an eye for detail.
*Demonstrated ability to manage and lead contentious matters effectively, achieving desired outcomes for clients.
*Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal advice clearly and succinctly.
*A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a client-focused approach.
*A commitment to promoting a collaborative and inclusive environment where every team member feels valued.
Day-to-day
On a daily basis, you will:
*Review files and assess liability and quantum in professional negligence cases.
*Prepare comprehensive reports to clients, advising on case merits, strategies, and potential outcomes.
*Engage in settlement discussions and attend meetings with clients or third parties, either virtually or in person.
*Undertake in-depth legal research to support your arguments and cases.
*Monitor case progress, adhering to established timelines and deadlines.
*Draft legal correspondence and prepare legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
*Collaborate with a dynamic team of legal professionals, sharing knowledge and supporting junior colleagues where needed.
*Participate in firm-wide training initiatives, diversity and inclusion workshops, and business development opportunities to foster personal and professional growth.
