Production Planner
Halifax
Salary IRO £45K-£48K PA
Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm Friday: 8:00am - 2:30pm
Flexible start times available (6:00am or 7:00am start possible)
A well-established manufacturing and engineering company based in Halifax is looking to recruit an experienced Production Planner to support its growing operations within a busy machine shop environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Production Planner with strong engineering knowledge who enjoys working closely with the shop floor, production management, and key internal stakeholders to ensure manufacturing schedules are met efficiently.
The Role - Production Planner
As a Production Planner, you will play a key role in coordinating production activities, supporting the Production Manager, and maintaining strong internal account relationships across the business. The role is both office-based and shop-floor focused, requiring practical understanding of machining and engineering processes.
Key Responsibilities
*Production planning and scheduling within a machining environment
*Progress chasing jobs through the shop floor
*Assisting the Production Manager with day-to-day production management
*Producing and maintaining accurate status and production reports
*Liaising with internal departments to manage workload and priorities
*Supporting shop floor duties with an understanding of machining processes
*Maintaining strong internal account and stakeholder relationships
*Ensuring production deadlines and quality standards are met
Requirements
*Proven experience as a Production Planner within an engineering or manufacturing environment
*Strong background in a machine shop / machining environment
*Relevant engineering or manufacturing qualifications (HNC, HND, NVQ, or equivalent)
*Solid understanding of production management and manufacturing workflows
*Ability to work closely with shop floor teams and management
*Strong organisational, communication, and reporting skills

*Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
*Friday: 8:00am - 2:30pm
