About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join one of our schools based in Sunderland. This flexible role is ideal for someone with practical maintenance skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming school environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Opening and closing school buildings

* Carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and DIY tasks

* Ensuring the cleanliness and safety of school premises

* Conducting routine checks (fire alarms, security systems, heating, etc.)

* Supporting with deliveries, room set-ups, and site safety

* Responding to urgent maintenance issues as needed

Requirements
* Previous caretaking, maintenance, or facilities experience (school experience desirable)

* Good practical skills and the ability to work independently

* Flexibility to work across different school sites

* A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

* Strong awareness of health & safety procedures
