Job Description:
Neighbourhoods Housing Officer
Location: Okehampton / Tavistock / Cullompton
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Contract: Fixed term until April 2026
Salary: £20.05 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Housing Officer to manage a defined neighbourhood patch. Acting as the primary relationship manager for residents, you will deliver high-quality front-line housing services, manage tenancy matters, and help maintain safe, welcoming communities.
You will work closely with internal teams and external partners, support new housing developments, and play a key role in resident engagement and neighbourhood sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
*Deliver outstanding customer service, responding to tenancy queries and permissions
*Conduct tenancy sign-ups, viewings, and ensure compliance with tenancy agreements
*Manage tenancy breaches, including safeguarding concerns
*Oversee estate standards and service contracts to ensure value for money
*Promote resident engagement and support community development initiatives
*Work collaboratively to maintain positive neighbourhood environments
About You
You will bring:
*Experience in social housing, including tenancy, estate, and housing management
*CIH Level 4 qualification (or willingness to work towards)
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills
*Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
*A strong customer focus with a drive to improve satisfaction
*A full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle
Additional Information
This role involves working with vulnerable individuals. An enhanced DBS check will be required as part of the recruitment process.
