Cleaning Operative
Location: On site at HMP Bullingdon
Contract: Temporary
Hours: Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week
About the Role
We are recruiting a reliable and hardworking Cleaning Operative to join the Facilities Maintenance Team at HMP Bullingdon, a Category B adult male prison.
HMP Bullingdon operates like a self contained city and relies on a dedicated team of professionals to ensure the site remains safe, clean, and fully operational. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, you will play a key role in supporting the day to day running of the prison, helping to maintain high standards that directly impact prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.
You will work Monday to Friday as part of a supportive and committed team that values teamwork, professionalism, and pride in delivering quality work.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out cleaning duties to a consistently high standard across designated prison areas
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and workspaces
• Adhere to all health and safety requirements, including COSHH regulations
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support a safe and secure environment for prisoners, staff, and visitors
What We Are Looking For
• Previous experience working in a cleaning environment
• Knowledge of COSHH and safe working practices
• Understanding of relevant health and safety requirements
• Good organisational and time management skills
• A reliable team player with a positive and professional approach
